About
A self-proclaimed “science geek” as a teenager, Michael J. Mitchell, M.D., has always enjoyed working with people and being challenged intellectually and working with his hands. As a new physician, Dr. Mitchell first began working as a primary care physician in the Air Force and seemed to spend a lot of time looking in ears, noses and throats which lead to being an ENT.
Dr. Mitchell specializes in treating disorders of the ear, nose and throat/neck. Health issues in these areas can cause problems with hearing, speech, eating, nasal obstruction, snoring, sleeping and early childhood development. Dr. Mitchell treats all age groups and a range of issues – from chronic ear infections to cancer involving the ear, nose and throat.
Dr. Mitchell loves what he does, and feels that he has a unique mix of medical and surgical options for his patients. He also feels like he gets to make a real difference in each patient’s health. Dr. Mitchell believes in providing compassionate care to help patients understand their condition and then providing up-to-date medical and/or surgical care as needed.
Dr. Mitchell and his wife have four adult children and two grandchildren. They enjoy family time when possible. Dr. Mitchell also enjoys being very active with road biking, swimming, weightlifting, hiking, snow skiing, scuba diving and travel.
